After a rough night, the lab test results finally came in.
WHAT? IS IT NEGATIVE ?? My god, I’m doing it !!!!
We therefore find in our ceilings:
- 90% cement with angular particles
- 8% vegetable fibers
- Less than 2% hairs
Hairs? Who would have believed it? My first instinct was to think of dung that would have been used for insulation, which would explain the presence of plant AND animal matter.
After research, the plant fibers would probably be flax, and were used for filling (real name: tow) in ancestral houses piece by piece.
As for the hair, I learned from an architect friend that it was probably horsehair.
But hey, asbestos or not, we’re going to remove this material !
