When we bought the house, we saw that it was heartbreaking for the former owner. So, I wouldn’t dare say that the house has previously lacked love, it is not.
Let’s just say that there are many ways to show love to a house. Sometimes it is in appearance only and other times in what I would call “sustainability”. For my part, I belong to the second category. I like to think about things in the long term, considering the aesthetic, practical and ecological aspects as much. Yes yes, we want to renovate intelligently. And there will be recovery , that’s for sure. And if we’re not lucky, it won’t cost too much.
It must be said that we have not set deadlines (in fact, yes: 10 years), and that we have a fairly good ability to adapt. So, we stay zen, we look for opportunities and we simply live.
We have been living in our house for a month now, which had not been inhabited for about 6 months. We got to know each other.
In the end, that’s kind of what makes old houses so charming: priorities change as quickly as surprises arise. 🙂 All our good initial intentions (“We will start with this and that. You’ll see, it won’t be long.”) Were turned upside down. The moral of this story is to listen to the house. She decides. And we discovered it very quickly, on Christmas Day …
So a sink and shower repair on the horizon!
