This was spread over several weekends (5 in all, the time to let the layers of stain dry well).<\/p>\n<h2>Total cost of the project?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>$ 25 for the handle<\/li>\n<li>$ 2 for the sanding sponge<\/li>\n<li>$ 10 for the stain brush<\/li>\n<li>The dye did not cost anything since it comes from what the former owner had left behind.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Steps to stain a door and install a handle:<\/h2>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\">Initial state<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1128 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/renobunker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/recuperation-porte-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"562\" height=\"1000\" srcset=\"https:\/\/renobunker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/recuperation-porte-1.jpg 562w, https:\/\/renobunker.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/recuperation-porte-1-169x300.jpg 169w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 562px) 100vw, 562px\" \/><\/p>\n<h3>1 &#8211; Sand the surface<\/h3>\n<p>First, you have to sand the surface of the door (especially in damaged areas) and fill the cavities and other defects with the help of pore filler.
